About Us

Hi, my name is Darcee.  I am the designer, seamstress and sole proprietor of Golf Gear by Darcee.  Maybe that will change in the future, we'll see.  I have been sewing most of my life.  I grew up in Oregon in the 60's when sewing was a way of life for most people.  Sadly it became less costly to purchase clothing than to make it.  So I started quilting to feed my passion and thoroughly enjoy it.  It's as if I'm creating art pieces.   It's so easy to get inspired through the array of beautiful, high quality cotton at your local quilt shops.  My husband and I recently moved to Palm Desert, California.  We both are very obsessive about golf.  That's why we moved, sun?, rain?  hello.  However I'm equally passionate about my sewing and creating.   Therefore I wanted to find a way to marry my two hobbies together, and Golf Gear was born.  One hobby (golf) occupying my time in the "season", the other (sewing) to keep me indoors and cool during the summer months.  Perfect!   I'm hoping to add products on a continual basis as they develop.  There are so many ideas buzzing around in my brain.  But right now I'm concentrating on getting these current products into everyone's golf bag.  I'm thinking putter cover coming next.  Stay tuned.
